The 21 young (1997-2000) sons and daughters of Merlin born
on Windswept Farm clearly demonstrate his quality as a refining stallion
and sire of the "modern" Hanoverian horse.These foals, from eight different
dams, strongly suggest that the qualities of his sire are being passed on
by Merlin to his own get. 
Merlin is a well-rounded athlete, with talent leaning more to the jumper
side. Merlin's dam, St.Pr.St. Eskalade, produced three licensed Hanoverian stallions
before her untimely death in 1995. Her lineage includes such familiar names
as Absatz, Argentan, Weiler and the thoroughbreds Hyperion, Ecuador, Adlerschild
and Waidmannsdank.
Merlin's first
foals were born in 1997. A daughter, E.M. Mathilda (out of E.M. Frederika by Feiner
Stern), had the highest score amongst all the mares presented at this year's
AHS inspection tour.
